This article analyzes anglicisms operating within the sociolect of a subcultural youth community in Kazakhstan. It demonstrates that anglicisms undergo semantic transformation and localization through traditional linguistic tools characteristic of Russian and Kazakh, as occurs with English–language lexemes, particularly in the communicative environment of anime series fans. The process of lexical–semantic assimilation allows us to examine not only the formal but also the substantive aspects of linguistic change and its impact on the linguistic worldview of Kazakhstan's youth, who are active participants in globalization processes, including, among other things, cross–cultural communication and exposure to global mainstream culture.
